Yep. Almost Groundhog Day... which makes it entirely appropriate, when you think about it, that I lapsed on updating the blog and am playing catchup again...

very apologetic... I have been BAD BAD BAD about posting... S has scolded me several times... so I will try once again to play catchup...

It is SO wonderful to have R&K here - in the same time zone (and, for another few days, in the same house)...

can't believe it's been so long since we (I) posted... 3 months!!! so much has happened it's hard to figure out where to start... so I will hit the highlights and flesh them all out with subsequent posts and pics as soon as possible...

Well, our two chickens, Marci and Mabel, are lovely. They are friendly and curious and very nicely behaved. And they are giving us eggs (not that many yet, like 2 in 3 days, but a decent start! They have been up on the patio and on the back porch - they wander freely during the day and head back to the Bunkie every evening. ...

Okay, I caved... the breeder said to keep the guineas in the coop for 2 weeks to get imprinted so they will come back to the coop at night, then release one the first day, another the next, etc... S wanted to let them out yesterday (1 week) but I wanted to Follow The Rules... but we were out there...

New Friends...

Well, yes, we have some new friends! We are now the proud owners of two chickens (Marci and Mabel) and 4 guinea fowl hens (Gladys, Gabby, Gretl and Gracie (all girls, we dont want a rooster... they are apparently nothing but trouble, to judge from the number of them that people are constantly trying to give away on...

It is a gorgeous day so Yam & I headed out for a walk. We also had groceries to pick up in Annapolis so I thought the fort (Fort Anne) would be a great place to go. We parked at the Farmers market site and as we walked across the street I noticed a sign saying Promenade......
